Skyforge Tactics Review
Every tactics game asks you to hold ground. Skyforge Tactics asks which ground is worth holding when all of it is falling. Islands sink in a visible sequence, so the game becomes a puzzle of timed retreats and desperate last stands.
In the campaign this creates set-piece drama. In ranked it creates information warfare — the replay viewer doubles as a study tool, and the community has built an entire coaching culture around it.
High-level balance currently bends toward artillery, which the 4.0.3 patch began correcting. For everyone below the top ranks, the roster feels wide open.
Strengths
- Terrain mechanic is a genuine innovation
- Excellent replay tools
- Fair free-to-start model
Weaknesses
- Steep ranked learning curve
- Artillery units dominate high-level play
Our Verdict: The collapsing-terrain hook is more than a gimmick — it rewrites tactics fundamentals. The ranked curve will筛选 casual players, but campaign players get a complete, generous package.
Platform Notes
Performance is equivalent across all three desktop platforms. The web version caps at 30fps by design.
